It's been some time since I added a new "Tips" page.. guess it is time.

I have been hearing from a lot of people about the pop up ads and windows that they get when visiting some websites.

There are several different little programs that can be downloaded that will prevent these windows from opening.

Remember...These links are provided as a courtesy ONLY.  Western Idaho Internet assumes NO responsibility as to the usability or functionality and does NOT provide support for these products.

Below, in no particular order, are just a few of the ones I ran across.

PopOops  PopOops is a small and easy to use program that blocks ALL popup windows in Internet Explorer. It runs in system tray and optionally plays sound and/or shows balloon tooltip (tooltip in Windows 2K/Me/XP only) every time popup is blocked.
Bayden PopupPopper Take command of your browser... Blast unwanted popups while still allowing them from sites you trust.  Banish unwanted popups forever!   PopupPopper contains no spyware and allows you to control what gets popped and what does not.
Another IE Popup Killer Another IE Popup Killer is a little tool to block popup windows of IE. It's not an advanced popup killer works in "hook" or "hostfile" mode, but in "window-level", so it's very stable and never slow down IE.
PopKi Keep PopKi running while you browse the Internet and it will give you control over unwanted "Popup" browser windows. Popki lets you allow popups and new browser windows when desired.

There are others out there.  These just happen to be the ones I ran across at

Be certain that you have a good (UPDATED) Anti Virus program installed on your computer prior to downloading anything from the Internet.

Download and Install software off of the Internet at your own risk!
