April Tip

Would you like for your mail program to "tell You" that you have mail?

Click one of these: (You may have to play the sound twice for it to download and sound right.  It will work correctly once it is loaded into your computer's cache)

female voice "you have a mail message"

male voice "you got mail"

Meg Ryan "You've got mail"

George Carlin "There's a letter in your mailbox!"

male voice singing "Mailboat's in"

X-files "Your new mail is in"

male voice "You're having new mail in your inbox"

Once you have decided on the notification you want, click "File" in the upper left corner of the windows media player window:

click "Save as"

Either Select a folder to save into or create a new folder and save the sound to your computer's hard drive.  (You will need to remember where it is...

Once you have the sound you want saved to your hard drive, go to "Start" > "Settings" select "Control Panel".

Double Click "Sounds" scroll down to the one that says "New mail Notification"

Click the "Browse" button and navigate to the folder containing the saved mail sound.

Select the sound you want then "OK" all the screens until all are closed.

You have just changed the notification sound for your email messages.
